In Outlook 2013 (and newer), Gmail uses the Sent folder on the server. If the server supports XLIST or enhanced-list, or Outlook can match a folder on the server to it's folders by name, sent items will be stored in the Sent folder on the server, otherwise they will be in the local Sent Items folder. Outlook 2013 and newerīeginning with Outlook 2013, you cannot choose the Sent folder Outlook asks the IMAP server which folder it should use. Saving a copy locally will result in two copies of the sent message (one local and one saved by gmail online), but this is necessary if you use BCC and later want to check who a message was sent to. The Outgoing server supports a couple of options. This will automatically change the port to 995 for POP3 or port 993 for IMAP. The small icon envelope just moves back over to the inbox when i try to drag over.
I use a lot of folders to organise my emails and for the last two weeks my emails in the inbox just dont want to move into the folders i create when dragging and dropping. I’m currently using version Microsoft Outlook for Mac Version 16.19 (181109). I have a Gmail account which i prefer to view via Microsoft Outlook. Im on a MacBook Air with macOS Hogh Sierra version 10.13.6.
